Where is my video processed?
Everything happens right in your browser: adding the video, trimming, and exporting to any format. Nothing is ever uploaded to Drefly's servers, so your video never leaves your device.
Can I load a video from a URL?
Yes, paste a link from YouTube, X, TikTok, Facebook, or hundreds of other sites, or a direct link to a video file, then pick a quality to fetch it into the editor. Some URLs may not allow browser-based clipping if the host blocks cross-origin access - in that case, download the file first and upload it instead.
Does clipping change the video's frame or aspect ratio?
No, Clip Video only changes the length, not the frame area. The Aspect ratio buttons only change how the preview letterboxes on screen while you work - they never crop the exported video. To crop the frame to a custom area or aspect ratio, use the Crop Video tool instead.
What formats can I export to?
Any format in the dropdown: MP4, WEBM, MOV, MKV, AVI, FLV, or GIF, all rendered right in your browser. AVI and FLV are flagged slower since they take a bit longer to encode than the others.
Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit from Drefly. Since trimming and exporting happen entirely on your device, the only limit is what your browser and device can handle. Very large files may take longer or, on older browsers, may not be supported.

How fast will my export be?
It depends on your file and the format you pick. Exporting to MP4 or WEBM is usually the quickest, often finishing in seconds right on your device. Exporting to MOV, MKV, AVI, FLV, or GIF takes a bit longer since more work is needed, but it all still happens on your device without uploading anything.
